Godspeed You! Black Emperor
VPRO Radio "De Avonden" Session,
Studio Amstel, Amsterdam
The Netherlands
Recorded: 24th or 26th November, 1998 (suggestion actually 24th rather than commonly credited 26th, hence using it here.)
Broadcast: most probably February 25, 1999
Rebroadcast:
First part: January 18, 2007
Second part: January 25, 2007

While this included an additional song that I was unaware of, it is mono throughout, and without any announcers nor interviews. Please see this torrent for some additional info.
This torrent compiles material from this and a traded version I had from years gone by (and source now forgotten). It now features remastered stereo audio, plus two interviews which were part of the original broadcast. My thanks to mthrfckrrdmr for their assistance in reviewing this recording, plus seeding so many GYBE shows here and uploading to archive.org.
From what I understand, the original broadcast source is the mono capture with interviews:
1. DJ Intro 0.32
2. John Hughes 6.45
3. DJ talk (band introduction) > Interview 8.29
4. Steve Reich 8.45
5. DJ talk > Interview 7.07
6. World Police pt 1 12.46
7. DJ Outro 0.11
Moya may not have been broadcast.
The rebroadcast is the stereo source, and may be pre-FM. Apart from announcer, it was music only. It included Moya but not John Hughes:
First broadcast:
1. Announcer Intro 00:43
2. Moya 10:01
3. Announcer Outro 00:23
Second broadcast:
4. Announcer Intro 00:23
5. World Police 12:48
6. Steve Reich 08:54
7. Announcer Outro 00:07
Remastering notes:
The stereo source has been used for all tracks, except John Hughes of course, for which there only seems to be a mono capture. Where available, some additional material from the mono source has been edited into the stereo: A few notes at beginning of WP, and a sequence of street conversation at the conclusion of SR. Slight EQ applied to balance John Hughes with other tracks. Fades, normalise and track.
1. Moya 10.05
2. World Police 13.01
3. Steve Reich 9.52
4. John Hughes 6.49
5. 1st Broadcast, Announcer Intro 0.29
6. 1st Broadcast, Announcer + interview 1 8.29
7. 1st Broadcast, Announcer + interview 2 7.07
8. 1st Broadcast, Announcer Outro 0.10
9. 2nd Broadcast, Announcer Intro 0.43
10. 2nd Broadcast, Announcer Outro & Intro 0.47
11. 2nd Broadcast, Announcer Outro 0.07
As the songs were played in different orders on each broadcast, I’m not sure what the authentic sequence should be. I’ve followed the stereo sequence as WP & SR were played without interruption.
Enjoy.
